Anotace:

Diplomová práce se věnuje překladatelskému procesu z teoretického i praktického hlediska. Dle toho je rozdělena do několika kapitol. V úvodní části jsou čtenáři seznámeni se životem a dílem W.B. Yeatse a Lady Gregory, autorů knihy Treasury of Irish Myth, Legend and Folklore a některým významným událostem z historie Irska, které ovlivnily též vývoj literatury. V praktické části autorka uvádí svoji verzi překladu zmíněného díla a v teoretické části se za pomoci předních autorit snaží obhájit svůj přístup k překladu.

Abstract:

The Diploma Thesis is concerned with the translation process from both the theoretical and practical point of view and is subdivided accordingly. In the introductory part she exposes the readers to the life stories of the authors of the book in question and the historical background of the country where the book originated from. In the practical part the author presents her own translation of the book Treasury of Irish Myth, Legend and Folklore by W.B. Yeats and Lady Gregory. In the theoretical part the author consults the prominent authorities and in comparison to the theory of translation tries to explain the particular solution she applied during the translation.
