Design of new active and passive safety features of cars used by seniors

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o oblasti bezpečnosti řidičů - seniorů v osobních automobilech. Jsou zde provedeny analýzy jejich podílu na nehodovosti v České republice i v Evropě a následky těchto nehod zejména z pohledu újmy na jejich zdraví s ohledem na kritéria poranění. Práce také analyzuje současný stav vývojových trendů v oblasti využitelných asistenčních systémů řidiče a prvků pasivní bezpečnosti osobních automobilů. Dále jsou zde uvedeny požadavky na osobní automobil pro seniory z hlediska konstrukce, systémů aktivní a pasivní bezpečnosti a ergonomie. Diplomová práce také obsahuje řadu úvah o činnosti pasivních bezpečnostních systémů a návrhy některých alternativních řešení těchto systémů. Závěr práce obsahuje příklad čelního nárazu automobilu s řidičem seniorem a činnost jednotlivých prvků bezpečnosti.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the field of elderly drivers safety in their passenger cars. There are analyses made of their participation in accidents in the Czech Republic and in Europe and the consequences of these accidents, especially in terms of damage to their health with respect to injury criteria. This thesis also analyses the current state of development trends on the field in assistant driver systems and passive safety devices of passenger cars. Futher are there presented requirements for passenger cars for seniors in terms of construction, active and passive safety systems and ergonomics. The thesis also contains a series of considerations on the activities of passive safety systems and suggestion for some alternative solutions of these systems. Presented in the conclusion of this work is an example of the frontal crash of a passenger car with an elderly car driver and actions of individual safety devices.
