Abstract:

Cílem disertační práce je komparace literárních textů dvou hlavních představitelů meziválečného surrealismu v řeckém a českém kontextu, Andrease Embirikose a Vítězslava Nezvala. Dvě základní hlediska komparace jsou využití stěžejní surrealistické metody - automatického psaní v díle těchto autorů a dále jejich přístup k vůdčímu motivu surrealismu, kterým je žena a ženské tělo. Práce sleduje rozdílný literární vývoj, který uvedení surrealismu do řecké a české literatury předcházel: poukazuje na absenci kontinuálního vývoje avantgardy v Řecku; zároveň jsou v ní vymezeny shodné prvky poetismu, domácího avantgardního hnutí, s českým surrealismem. Část věnovaná otázce automatického psaní se zaměřuje na Embirikosovu sbírku Ypsikaminos a Nezvalova Absolutního hrobaře. Podrobná analýza dochází k závěru, že ani jedna z nich nesplňuje kritéria automatického textu, v obou případech pozdní snaha o aplikaci surrealistické metody vede spíše k její nápodobě. Obě sbírky jsou následně rozebírány z hlediska rozdílného přístupu k zobrazení ženy jako ženy-dítěte, ženy-matky a ženy-smrti, i z pohledu přístupu k motivu ženského těla, jehož podoba vypovídá o vztahu umělce k makrokosmu okolního světa. Uvedené srovnání mimo jiné dokázalo, že představitelé řeckého a českého surrealismu přistupovali k těmto motivům zcela rozdílným způsobem a byli do značné míry ovlivněni předchozím literárním a historickým kontextem svých zemí.

Abstract:

The aim of the dissertation is to compare the work of the main representatives of the Surrealism in the Greek and Czech literature in the period between the two wars, Andreas Embirikos and Vítězslav Nezval. The basic viewpoint of the comparison is how these two authors utilized the main surrealistic method, the automatic writing, in their works, as well as their attitude to the principal motif of surrealism, namely the representation of woman and female body in general. The dissertation examines the different literary developments that preceded surrealism in Greek and Czech literature: it highlights the absence of continuous development of avantgarde in Greece; at the same time it points out the congruous elements of poetism, the avantgard movement in Bohemia, with the Czech Surrealism. The main part of the dissertation deals with the problem of automatic writing and analyzes two collections of poems – the Ypsikaminos by Embirikos and Nezval’s Absolutní hrobař. A detailed analysis showed that neither of these collections fulfills the requirements for automatic writing, and that in both cases the late attempt at applying the surrealistic method results in its imitation at best. Both collections of poems are subsequently examined with regard to their distinct approach to the representation of a woman as woman-child, woman-mother and woman-death. The motif of female body that have bearing on the artist’s attitude to the macrocosm of the surrounding world is eanalyzed as well. Among other things the analysis showed that both Greek and Czech surrealist poets were to a large extent influenced by previous literary and historical developments in their respective countries.
