Na začátku prosince roku 2013 byly publikovány výsledky mezináírodního měření vědomostí PISA. Švédští žáci se v měření v porovnání s ostatními zeměmi OECD propadli nejvíce. Tento fakt vyvoval velkou vlnu různých teorií, které se zabývaly jak příčinami zhoršujících se výsledků žáků švédských základních škol, tak i přicházely s návrhy na zlepšení současné situace. In the beginning of December 2013 were published results of the international education ranking PISA. The Swedish students performed worst of all OECD countries which started many different debates on this issue.
