Changes in attitudes of primary school teachers to their profession during the career.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá změnami postojů učitelů prvního stupně základní školy v průběhu jejich profesní dráhy. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části se zaměřujeme na historický vývoj učitelského povolání a výchovy, na hlavní myslitele ovlivňující vývoj této profese a na postavení učitelské profese ve společnosti v minulosti i nyní. Popisujeme i vliv vývojových období dospělosti na profesi jako takovou. Přibližujeme pojem učitele, jeho osobnosti a prestiže ve společnosti. V praktické části využíváme kvalitativní výzkum, který proběhne formou hloubkových rozhovorů s pěti respondenty a následným zpracováním dat otevřeným kódováním. Získané informace nám řeknou, jaké postoje mají učitelé ke svému povolání na začátku své profesní dráhy a jaké mají nyní, jakým směrem se změny ubírají. Praktickou část jsme dále rozšířili o kvantitativní výzkum, kde jsme dali rodičům žáků dotazníky, abychom získali jejich postoj k učitelské profesi.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on changing in attitudes of primary school teachers during their career. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part we focus on historical development of teacher´s profession and education, on main thinkers having influence on this profession´s development and on the position of teacher´s profes-sion in the society in the past and now. We describe also the influence of adulthood´s de-velopmental period to the career. We describe the concept of teacher, his personality and prestige in the society. In the practical part we use qualitative research which is made by depth interview form with five respondents and followed data processing by open cod-ing. The gained information will tell us which attitudes to their profession the teachers have at the beginning of their career and which one they have now, which direction the changes have. We have expanded the practical part on quantitative research, where we are going to give to parents´ pupils the questionnaires for getting the attitudes to their profession.
