Abstract:
The main aim of this master thesis is to shed some light on the process of creating subtitles. After outlining the scope of the field of audiovisual translation, the focus shifts to the key norms and standards of subtitling. Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je popsat proces tvorby titulků. Práce nejprve pojednává o audiovizuálním překladu a následně o základních principech a normách titulkování. Na základě získané teorie byly vybrány tři díly amerického seriálu Teorie velkého třesku, které byly poté použity při analýze a tvorbě titulků.
