Linguistic analysis of Czech and Russian names of alcoholic beverages

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá jazykovou analýzou českých a ruských pojmenování alkoholických nápojů ve srovnávacím aspektu. V úvodní kapitole je pozornost krátce věnována lingvistickým disciplínám, které bezprostředně souvisejí s tématem práce, a to onomasiologii a onomastice. V této kapitole je také vymezen rozdíl mezi pojmy: pojmenování, termín a jsou zde zmíněny významy termínů: chrématonyma, pragmatonyma a obchodní značka (brend), které se rovněž uplatňují v souvislosti s pojmenováními alkoholických nápojů. Je zde také vysvětlena etymologie a sémantika klíčového termínu alkohol v obou jazycích. Čistě teoretickou část práce uzavírá stručný popis historie vývoje alkoholu ve světě, v Rusku a v českých zemích. Teoreticko-praktický charakter má třetí kapitola této diplomové práce, kde jsou popsány vybrané druhy alkoholických nápojů a vysvětlena jejich sémantika. Praktická část je zaměřena na klasifikaci a analýzu excerpovaného materiálu. Jsou v ní provedeny analýzy z hlediska motivace pojmenování, jejich původu a struktury. Součástí práce jsou přílohy, obsahující česko-ruský a rusko-český terminologický glosář.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the linguistic analysis of Czech and Russian names of alcoholic beverages in the comparative aspect. In the introductory chapter the attention is briefly devoted to linguistic disciplines that are directly related to the topic of this work, namely onomasiology and onomastics. In this chapter is also defined the distinction between the terms: the name, the term and as well the meanings of the terms: chrematonym, pragmatonym and trade mark (brand) are mentioned as they are also used in connection with the names of alcoholic beverages. There is also explained the etymology and semantics of the key term alcohol in both langueges. The purely theoretical part concludes with a brief description of the history of alcohol development in the world, in Russia and in the Czech lands. The third chapter of this thesis has theoretical-practical character where are described selected types of alcoholic beverages and and explanation of their semantics. The practical part is focused on classification and analysis of excerpted material. It analyzes the motivation of naming, the origin and structure. The thesis also includes attachments containing the Czech-Russian and Russian-Czech terminology glossary.
