Risk of health problems in children after premature birth and subsequent support for families

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na předčasně narozené děti a jejich možné potíže související s předčasným porodem. Je rozdělena do 4 kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá oborem perinatologie a charakteristikou nedonošenosti z různých hledisek. Jsou zde vysvětleny pojmy jako je intrauterinní růstová retardace a její typy, hranice viability, mortalita nedonošených dětí, jejich prognóza nebo také charakteristika třístupňové péče. Druhá kapitola se týká péče o nedonošené děti v nemocnici a následná raná podpora rodin s dítětem, jehož vývoj je ohrožen právě předčasným porodem. V této kapitole je popsána výživa nedonošených dětí a také metoda klokánkování, která je v péči o nedonošené děti v poslední době stavěna čím dál více do popředí. Třetí a zároveň poslední teoretická kapitola popisuje komplikace, které často předčasně narozené děti potkávají, avšak v konečném důsledku pro budoucí život dítěte nemusí mít fatální následky. Ve 4. kapitole je shrnuta praktická část bakalářské práce, která obsahuje prezentaci a analýzu 3 případových studií rodin s předčasně narozeným dítětem. Do praktické části byl zahrnut také dotazník, který zkoumal spokojenost rodičů předčasně narozených dětí s podávanými informacemi a obecně komunikací se zdravotnickým personálem. Všechny děti z případových studií jsou v současné době zdravé. Neobjevila se u nich žádná závažná komplikace, která by jim výrazně ovlivňovala život, omezovala je a kterou by se lišily od svých vrstevníků. Odpovědi respondentů na dotazník byly vesměs pozitivní. Většina rodičů byla s podáváním informací o jejich novorozenci spokojená a cítila se v přítomnosti zdravotníků dobře. Velké nedostatky jsou ovšem v podáváním informací i službách rané péče. Velké procento rodičů tuto službu vůbec nezná.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on prematurely born babies and their potential problems associated with premature birth. It is divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals with the field of perinatology and its characteristics from different perspectives. Concepts such as intrauterine growth retardation and its types, limits of viability, preterm infant mortality, their prognosis, or characteristic of a three-level care are explained. The second chapter concerns the care of premature babies in the hospital and subsequent early support for families with a child whose development is currently threatened by preterm labor. This chapter describes the nutrition of premature babies and kangaroo care method which is becoming more and more important in the care of premature babies. The third and final chapter describes the theoretical complications that premature babies often meet, but ultimately the future life of the child need not be fatal. In 4th section summarizes the practical part of the thesis contains a presentation and analysis of three case studies of families with a premature baby. Practical part of the questionnaire was also included and examined satisfaction of parents of preterm infants administered with general information and communication with the medical staff. All children from the case studies are currently healthy. There was no one with any serious complication that would significantly influence or limit their lives or make them different from their peers. Responses to the questionnaire by respondents were generally positive. Parents were mostly satisfied with the level of information provided them about their babies and felt comfortable in the presence of medical staff. Major weaknesses are, however, in providing information and services related to early care. Significant number of parents does not know anything about this service at all.
