THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CULTURAL INSTITUTES IN THE PROCES OF BUILDING OF A GOOD COUNTRY REPUTATION IN CASE OF A SMALL COUNTRY

Abstract:

Diplomová práce analyzuje současný stav významného aktéra v oblasti prezentace České republiky v zahraničí, kterým je kulturní institut Česká centra. Práce si klade za cíl následně předložit modely možného budoucího směřování tohoto kulturního institutu s ohledem na vývoj a skutečnosti, které jsou pro fungování kulturního institutu v současné době příznačné. První část práce se zaměřuje na disciplíny, jako jsou veřejná a kulturní diplomacie a nation branding, které je možné s cílem prezentace země v zahraničí využít. Druhá kapitola se věnuje vymezení obecného modelu kulturního institutu, zatímco následující kapitola předkládá současný stav kulturního institutu Česká centra. V závěru práce jsou následně předloženy tři modely, kterými by se Česká centra v budoucnosti mohla nechat inspirovat ve svém dalším směřování.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis analyzes the current situation of the important player, called Czech centres, in the area of the prezentation of the Czech Republic abroad. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the models of possible future orientation of this cultural institute with regard to the developments and facts that are currently characteristic for the functioning of the cultural institute. The first part of the thesis is focused on the disciplines that can be used to present the country abroad, i.e. public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and nation branding. The second chapter deals with defining the general model of the cultural institute, while the next chapter is focused on the presentation of the current state of the Czech Centers. At the end of the thesis, three models are presented in order to inspire the Czech Centers in their future direction of functioning.
