Psychoanalytic approach to depression

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá především pohledem na depresi třech vý-znamných psychoanalytiků. Nejprve je deprese popsána Sigmundem Freudem, který ji nazýval melancholií a srovnával ji s obvyklým truchlením. Dále je předsta-vena Alice Millerová, především její teorie grandiozity, která má být protikladem k depresi. Poslední popsaný pohled je Melanie Kleinové, která depresi spojuje s úzkostmi, které jsou prožívány v dětství. Dále tato práce poskytuje přehled sou-časných psychologických směrů, jejich charakteristikou a způsoby, kterými léčí depresi. Na konci práce je popsána soudobá psychiatrická léčba, objasnění vzniku deprese dle psychiatrie a přehled aktuálně používaných léčiv včetně jejich vedlej-ších účinků.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis primarily deals with three psychoanalysts? viewpoint about depression. Initially, depression is described by Sigmund Freud, who termed it as melancholia and compared it with ordinary mourning. Thereinafter, there is intro-duced Alice Miller, chiefly her theory of grandiosity, which is to be the opposite of depression. The last described view is the one of Melanie Klein, who associates depression with anxieties which are experienced in childhood. Furthermore, this work provides the summary of current psychological movements, their characteris-tics and methods of depression treatment. At the end of the thesis there is de-scribed the present-day psychiatric therapy, the clarification of the emergence of depression and the summary of currently used medications including their side-effects.
