Social Isolation of Seniors as a Social Issue

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na sociální izolaci seniorů, jako jednu ze sociálních determinant sociální participace, sociální integrace a zdraví seniorů. Senior se setkává v této fázi lidského života s řadou životních krizí, které mohou vést k pocitům úzkosti, nízkého sebevědomí nebo k sociální izolaci a následně mohou negativně ovlivnit jeho fyzické a psychické zdraví. Tato práce představuje různé názory na sociální izolaci a klade otázku, co převážně způsobuje sociální izolaci seniorů a jak senioři tuto psychickou zátěž prožívají.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on social isolation of seniors as one of the social determinants to social participation, social integration and health of seniors. Senior meets several life crisis in this period of human life, which might lead towards the feelings of anxiety, low self-esteem or to the social isolation and consequently they can negatively influent seniors physical and psychical health. This thesis introduced various opinions on social isolation and brings the question what causes the social isolation of seniors predominantly and how seniors are coping with this psychic stress.
