The subject of the presented Bachelor 's thesis is the analysis of a solo in the song You and the Night and the Music by the American jazz pianist Keith Jarrett, as played at a concert at the Hitomi Memorial Hall in Tokyo on October 26, 1986, where Jarrett was performing with his trio.
