The usability and efficiency of mobile Internet in the Czech Republic for businesses and non-profit organizations

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je v teoretické části zaměřena na zmapování mobilního Internetu v České republice a řešení problému využitelnosti mobilního Internetu pro komerční subjekty a jejich podnikové aktivity. Zmapování mobilního Internetu zahrnuje všechny současné datové technologie generace 2,5 a vyšší. To je například GPRS, EDGE, CMDA, UMTS, LTE a další. Tyto technologie jsou detailně popsány. Prvním cílem praktické části diplomové práce je zjištění výhod nasazení mobilního Internetu ve zvoleném podniku. Dalším cílem praktické části je změření přenosové rychlosti pro download a upload poskytovaných služeb u tří největších mobilních operátorů a alespoň dvou mobilních datových technologií. Na základě měření je provedeno porovnání s oficiálními mapovými podklady od mobilního operátora. Poslední částí diplomové práce je vytvoření aplikace, která dle zadaných vstupů vyhodnotí nejvhodnějšího poskytovatele mobilního připojení.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of this thesis is focused on mapping the mobile internet in the Czech republic and solving the problem of exploitation of the mobile Internet for commercial subjects and their corporate activities. The mapping of the mobile internet includes all the contemporary mobile technologies of the generation 2.5 and higher. These are for example GPRS, EDGE, CMDA, UMTS, LTE et cetera. These technologies are then described in greater details. The first goal of the practical part is finding the benefits of mobile Internet use in selected company. The second goal of the theoretical part is testing the transmission speed for download and upload of three mobile operators and at least two mobile technologies. On the basis of transmission speed testing, the comparison with the official map groundwork from the mobile operators is undertaken. The last part of the thesis is creating an application which evaluates the most suitable provider of the mobile connection according to the given inputs.
