Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na podstatu trestného činu obchodování s lidmi a na další stěžejní faktory s tímto trestným činem spojenými. Celá práce je členěná na kapitoly, které na sebe navazují. První část tvoří historický vhled do dějin obchodu s lidmi. Po historických etapách se přistupuje k zákonné úpravě trestného činu obchodování s lidmi na národní a nadnárodní úrovni.
