Cílem této bakalářské práce je statistické shrnutí nejčetnějších kolizních situací v kolejové dopravě s objasněním fyzikální podstaty nehod, která vychází z teorie rázu dvou těles. Nosným obsahem je seznámení se s legislativou, ovlivňující konstrukční provedení nově vyráběných hnacích vozidel a vytvoření souhrnných poznatků v oblasti konstrukčních prvků, zajišťujících jejich pasivní bezpečnost.
