Commented Translation of a Non-literary Text from French into Czech Oriented on the Sociolinguistics (Translation of an Extract of the Book "CALVET, Louis-Jean (2011), Il était une fois 7000 langues, Fayard")

Abstract:

The present diploma thesis entitled ?Commented translation of a non-literary text from French to Czech oriented to sociolinguistics?, contains of three parts. In the first part, there is our own translation of the extract of the book Il était une fois 7000 langues written by Louis-Jean Calvet. Second part is focused on the stylistic, syntactic and lexical analysis of the source text, main differences between French and Czech and also on the main problems of translation. The third part presents the glossary of terms in the field of sociolinguistics which appear in our text.

Abstract:

Le présent mémoire de master intitulé ? La traduction commentée d?un texte non-littéraire du français au tch?que orientée sur la sociolinguistique ? est composé de trois parties. Dans la premi?re partie se trouve notre propre traduction d?un extrait du livre Il était une fois 7000 langues écrit par Louis-Jean Calvet. La deuxi?me partie se focalise sur l?analyse stylistique, syntaxique et lexicale, les différences principales entre le français et le tch?que et aussi sur les probl?mes essentiels de traduction. La troisi?me partie présente le glossaire des termes du domaine de la sociolinguistique qui se trouvent dans le texte.
