The analysis of the impact of the umbrella movement on the relation between China and Hong Kong in 2015, 2016 and the beginning of 2017

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the impact of the Hong Kong protests in 2014 known as the Umbrella movement and it will also focus on the current relationships between China and the special administrative region Hong Kong. The topic of this thesis was chosen based on personal interest in this subject. The thesis begins with the brief analysis of the historical development of the relationships between China and Hong Kong up to 2012, followed by the characterization of the Occupy Central with Love and Peace movement and the description of the progress of the Umbrella Movement and its outcome. In my bachelor thesis, I focused on analyzing the impact of the umbrella movement on the relations between the PRC and Hong Kong in 2015, 2016 and early 2017. The main focus of the thesis is to evaluate to what extent the predictions have lived up to the expectations.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je provést zhodnocení dopadů hongkongských protestů z roku 2014, známých také pod názvem deštníkové hnutí, na současné vztahy ČLR a ZAO Hong Kong. Výběr tématu práce byl motivován osobním zájmem o danou problematiku. Součástí práce je stručný rozbor vývoje vztahů mezi ČLR a Hong Kongem do roku 2012, následuje charakteristika hnutí Occupy Central with Love and Peace a popis průběhu a vyústění deštníkového hnutí. V bakalářské práci jsem se zaměřila na analýzu dopadů deštníkového hnutí na vztahy mezi ČLR a Hong Kongem v letech 2015, 2016 a na počátku roku 2017. Pokusila jsem se zjistit do jaké míry události deštníkového hnutí ovlivnily dění v Hong Kongu v těchto letech.
