Soil temperature regime in urban and suburban landscape of Olomouc: spatial differences and their causes.

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje teplotě půdy v Olomouci a okolí v hloubce 20 cm pod travními porosty. Teplota půdy byla zkoumána na základě zpracování a vyhodnocení dat stanice ČHMÚ Olomouc-Holice, Metropolitní staniční sítě Olomouc a rozšiřujícího semistacionárního terénního měření. Hlavními dílčími cíli práce byly: rozbor chodu teploty půdy v souvislosti s počasím, popis a analýza časoprostorových rozdílů teploty půdy a vyhodnocení vlivů vybraných faktorů na teplotu půdy a její časoprostorové rozdíly. Výsledky ukázaly, že režim teploty půdy v Olomouci a okolí je teplý, přecházející ve velmi teplý. Prostorové rozdíly teploty půdy dosahovaly několika stupňů Celsia na regionální úrovni, více jak jeden stupeň Celsia a na lokální úrovni a desetiny stupně Celsia na mikro prostorové úrovni. Chod teploty půdy na jednotlivých lokalitách a samotné prostorové rozdíly teploty půdy byly určovány především počasím, charakterem reliéfu (včetně zástavby) a vlastnostmi trávníku. Vliv fyzikálních vlastností půdy nebyl jednoznačný. Vztah mezi teplotou půdy a rozdělením krajiny na městský a příměstský typ nebyl pro množství vzájemně se ovlivňujících faktorů působících na teplotu půdy zřetelný. Teplota půdy by dále měla být zkoumána především v širším geosystémovém kontextu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with soil temperature in Olomouc and its surroundings (Czech Republic) at the depth of 20 cm under grass. Soil temperature was investigated using data obtained by measurement at Czech Hydrometeorological Institute station Olomouc-Holice, Metropolitan Station System Olomouc and by complementary semi-stationary measurements. The main aims of this study were the following: description of soil temperature course in the context of weather, description and analysis of spatiotemporal differences of soil temperature and assessment of the influence of particular factors on soil temperature and its spatiotemporal differences. Spatial differences of soil reached up to several degrees Celsius at regional scale, more than 1°C at local scale and tenths of a degree Celsius at micro scale. The course of soil temperature in given locations and also spatial differences of soil temperature were reflecting in particular weather conditions, character of relief (including housing development) and character of the lawn; meanwhile the effect of soil physical properties on the spatial distribution of soil temperature was ambiguous. There was no distinctive relation between soil temperature and division of landscape to urban and suburban (or rural) as soil temperature was effected by many interacting factors. Soil temperature should be further studied principally in a wider context of geosystems.
