The role and benefits of the spiritual ministry when working with perpetrators of the crime

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci popisuji poslání a přínosy duchovní služby při práci s pachateli trestné činnosti. V teoretické části práce se zaměřuji na vliv religiozity na svědomí a morálku člověka, vymezení pojmu duchovní služba, propojení duchovní služby a sociální práce či charakteristiku penitenciárního prostředí. Pro účely mé práce je neméně důležitá také kapitola zaměřená na duchovní službu v kontextu českého vězeňství, ve které jsem shrnula její historický vývoj, poslání a aktuální systém duchovní péče v českých věznicích. Cílem aplikační části práce je srovnání popisované teorie s praxí. Za tímto účelem analyzuji kazuistiku, ve které vycházím z rozhovoru s člověkem propuštěným z výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Tuto kazuistiku doplňuji o expertní rozhovor s duchovním, který působí jako vězeňský kaplan.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis, I describe the mission and contributions of a spiritual service in connection with work with an offender. In the theoretical part of the thesis, my focus lies in the influence of the religiosity upon conscience and morality of a human, definition of the spiritual service, linkage between the spiritual service and social work or characteristics of a penitentiary environment. For the purposes of my thesis, a chapter focused on a spiritual service in the context of Czech penitentiary is not of a lesser importance, where I summarised its historical evolution, mission and an actual system of spiritual custody in the Czech prisons. The goal of the practical part is a comparison of the theory with the practice. In pursue of this, I analyse casuistry based on an interview with a man released from imprisonment. The casuistry is supplemented with an expert interview with an ecclesiastic, who works as a cleric chaplain.
