Packages used in the wine industry

Abstract:

V této práci je uveden přehled obalových materiálů používaných ve vinařství a jejich různé provedení. Jsou zvýrazněny jejich výhody a nevýhody nejen z pohledu výrobce vína, spotřebitele, ale také z pohledu ekologického. Protože uhlíková stopa je ukazatelem dopadu na životní prostředí, jsou v práci zahrnuty doporučení pro obaly na její snížení. U obalů jsou uvedeny možnosti jejich recyklace, vliv cirkulární ekonomiky a v neposlední řadě je nastíněn i ekonomický aspekt. Nejpoužívanějším, spotřebitelem nejoblíbenějším obalem je stále skleněná lahev, která je ale těžká, křehká a ač je sice recyklovatelná, k výrobě je potřeba značné množství energie. Dotazníkový průzkum se zabýval přístupem výrobců vína k opětovnému používání skleněných lahví od vína a až 55,9 % respondentů projevilo zájem, pokud by byla cena lahve nižší než lahve nové.

Abstract:

In this work is presented an overview of package materials used in the wine industry and their variations. Advantages and disadvantages of packaging are highlighted not only from the point of view of the wine producer and consumer, but also from the ecological point of view. The carbon footprint is an indicator of the impact on the environment, therefore recommendations for reducing the carbon footprint in wine packaging are also included in the work. The possibilities of packages recycling, the influence of the circular economy and last, but not least, the economic aspect is also outlined. The most used and most popular package by consumers is still the glass bottle, but it is heavy, fragile and, although it is recyclable, a considerable amount of energy is required for its production. Questionnaire survey found out wine producers' approach to re-using glass wine bottles and up to 55.9 % of respondents would be interested if the price of the bottle would be lower than of the new one.
