Business of international clothing retailing companies

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá podnikáním mezinárodních oděvních retailingových firem, které jsou významné v evropském i celosvětovém měřítku. Cílem práce je na základě literární rešerše a dostupných zdrojů prozkoumat činnost těchto společností. V teoretické části se jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy z oblasti retailingu, oděvního retailingu a módy. Dále se zaměřuje na proces internacionalizace společnosti, obecný retail business model a popisuje oděvní retailing a jeho význam ve vztahu k Evropě a k jednotlivým regionům. Praktická část se věnuje konkrétním vybraným společnostem – Inditex, H&M a C&A – a analyzuje jejich současnou situaci a specifika. Dále se zabývá současnými trendy a událostmi a jejich dopadem na činnost vybraných společností. Závěr práce shrnuje nabyté poznatky o těchto společnostech, jejich činnosti a významu.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the business of international apparel retailing firms that are significant on a European and global scale. The thesis aims to examine the operations of these companies based on a literature search and available sources. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts of retailing, apparel retailing, and fashion are explained. Furthermore, it focuses on the process of internationalization of the company, and the general retail business model and describes apparel retailing and its importance in relation to Europe and the different regions. The practical part focuses on specifically selected companies - Inditex, H&M, and C&A - and analyses their current situation and specificities. It also looks at current trends and events and their impact on the activities of the selected companies. The thesis concludes with a summary of the knowledge gained about these companies, their activities, and their importance.
