Evaluation of the groundwater supply wells and aquifer near Machnín

Abstract:

Kolektor terciérních sedimentů v okolí obce Machnín na Liberecku má významný vodárenský potenciál a podzemní voda na něj vázaná má uspokojivou kvalitu. V minulosti byly tyto zdroje vodárensky využívané. Současné jímací území Machnín bylo vyhodnoceno jako jedna z lokalit s potenciálem saturovat poptávku po pitné vodě v oblastech, které jsou dotčeny negativními vlivy dobývání uhlí v oblasti žitavské pánve na polském území. V roce 2016 byl z toho důvodu na Machníně iniciován hydrogeologický průzkum s cílem zhodnotit technicko-provozně-bilanční stav jímacího území a navrhnout využití potenciálu oblasti jako zdroje pitné vody. V rámci této práce byla uskutečněna a vyhodnocena terénní hydrometrická měření, sestavena hydrologická bilance a odvozena vydatnost hydrogeologické struktury na minimálně 67,49 l/s. Dále byla navržena optimalizace jímání vod, a to v rozmezí 52 až 54 l/s. Pro větší názornost situace byl zkonstruován koncept plošného rozsahu terciérního kolektoru a naznačen převažující směr proudění podzemních vod.

Abstract:

Tertiary sedimentary aquifer in the proximity of Machnín municipality in the Liberec region bears significant water extraction potential and the water quality is satisfactory. In the past the water resources had been extracted for water supply purposes. Currently the Machnín waterworks area has been assessed as one of the localities having a potential to saturate water supply demand in the regions affected by the negative effects of the coal mining in Eastern Upper Lusatia in Poland. Therefore in 2016 a hydro-geological survey was initiated with the objective to asses technical, operational and water budget conditions of the water withdrawal area and propose the utilisation of the potential of the area as a drinking water resource. Within the scope of this thesis the field discharge measurements have been conducted and evaluated and the water balance has been calculated. The yield of the hydro-geological structure derived is at least 67,49 l/s. The optimization of the water exploitation has been proposed for 52 – 56 l/s. For better understanding of the situation a geographic range of the Tertiary aquifer and the prevailing water flow directions have been drafted.
