The Design of Low-cost Security Measures for Schools from the Protection of Soft Targets Perspective

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je navrhnout bezpečnostní opatření pro školy z pohledu ochrany měkkých cílů se zaměřením na dostupné a nízkonákladové varianty. Teoretická část bude obsahovat nezbytnou terminologii, právní prostředí a specifika škol. Dále budou analyzo-vány nedávné útoky na školy v Evropě, zejména v České republice. Následující část bude popisovat vybrané bezpečnostní opatření, které se v současnosti využívají. Praktická část bude zaměřena na návrh nízkonákladových bezpečnostních opatření spolu s určením jejich výhod a nevýhod. Dále bude obsahovat postup, jak v jednotlivých krocích školu zabezpečit za použití těchto opatření.

Abstract:

The goal of this diploma thesis is to propose security measures for schools as soft targets, focusing on accessible and low-cost options. The theoretical part will contain relevant ter-minology, legal environment and characteristics of schools. Recent attacks on schools in Europe, especially in the Czech Republic, will be also analysed. The following section will describe selected security measures that are currently being used in school security pro-cess. The practical part will design low cost security measures together with the identifica-tion of their advantages and disadvantages. It will also include a step by step procedure for securing schools, using these designed measures.
