The year 1968 in the memories of citizens of Cheb district

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem předkládané bakalářské práce je zpracování a předložení uceleně uspořádaných informací o roku 1968 na Chebsku. Stěžejní událostí, na kterou se předkládaná práce zaměřuje, je invaze vojsk Varšavské smlouvy - tj. 21. srpen a události, které s tímto datem souvisejí. Práce je regionálně zaměřena právě na oblast Chebska. V práci převážně pracuji s metodou orální historie. Svůj výzkum tedy opírám o výpovědi několika pamětníků z tohoto regionu, dalšími důležitými primárními zdroji informací jsou dobový tisk a archiválie z pobočky Státního okresního archivu v Chebu. V dalších kapitolách se zaměřuji také na události, které bezprostředně předcházely 21. srpnu 1968 a zasazuji je do kontextu s událostmi v Praze.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis I deal with comprehensive information about 1968 in the area of Cheb. This thesis submit the main event which is invasion of Warshaw Pact troops - i. e. 21st August and events related to this date. This bachelor thesis is just focused on the Cheb region in which I use mostly an oral history method. In a view of using this kind of method is my practical part lean against statements of several Cheb area witnesses. Another important ressource of information are archival materials from state district archive in Cheb. Other parts of the thesis are focused on events which immediately preceded August 21, 1968 in the context of events in Prague at the same time.
