Transformation of public services: the case of Ostrava

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se snaží zhodnotit vývoj služeb v oblasti obslužnosti veřejné zeleně ve městě Ostravě a popsat rozmístění zelených ploch na území města. Teoretická část práce se věnuje vymezení pojmu veřejná zeleň a vysvětlení pojmu veřejných služeb, s ohledem na obslužnost zeleně. Dále se zabývá pojmy polycentrismus města a ,,shrinking city", jakožto důležitými faktory při rozvoji města. V empirické části je nastíněno konkrétní rozmístění zelených ploch na území Ostravy a formou rozhovorů zachycen názor aktérů obslužnosti zeleně na transformaci této služby. V závěru práce jsou zhodnoceny poznatky výzkumu a vyjádřen názor k vývoji služby z mého osobního hlediska.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis tries to evaluate the development of service in public greenery serviceability area in Ostrava city and describes green spaces distribution in the city. The Theoretical part of the thesis aims to define the concept of public greenery and explains the concept of public service with regard to public greenery serviceability. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the concepts of urban polycentrism and shrinking city as important factors in city development. The empirical part of the thesis outlines the specific placement of green spaces in Ostrava city and captures opinions of participants in greenery serviceability area in the form of interviews about transformation of this service. Finally, the thesis evaluates the research knowledge and attempts to evaluate the development of the service.
