Life in Vienna and in the Moravian Countryside in the Second Half of the 19th Century in the Literary Works of Jakob Julius David

Abstract:

The thesis will deal with the life in Vienna and the Moravian countryside in the second half of the nineteenth century with the focus on the role of social and estates' differences, and further the religious and cultural life in a city in contrast to the countryside. The thesis will analyze the view of a narrator on the mentioned issues and the relationships between the characters in researched literary works.

Abstract:

Die Arbeit wird sich mit dem Leben in Wien und in der mährischen Provinz in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts befassen. Mit einem besonderen Fokus auf die Rolle der gesellschaftlichen, sozialen und ständischen Unterschiede und weiter auf das religiöse und kulturelle Leben in der Stadt im Gegensatz zum ländlichen Gebiet. Die Arbeit wird die Sichtweise des Erzählers auf die genannte Problematik sowie die Beziehungen zwischen den Figuren aus den erforschten literarischen Werken analysieren.
