Analysis of the Internet and Digital Technology Influence on the Consumer Behavior of Seniors over 65 Years

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem internetu a digitálních technologií na spotřebitelské chování seniorů ve věku nad 65 let. Hlavním cílem práce je zhodnotit, jak osoby ve věku 65 let a více využívají digitální technologie a jak jsou ovlivňovány procesem digitalizace. Primární výzkum u spotřebitelů odhaluje, jaké skupiny produktů spotřebitelského koše jsou online nakupovány seniory ve věku 65 a více let. Analýzou dat dotazníkového šetření u osob 65+ byly zjištěny další dílčí aspekty marketingového a ekonomického pojetí chování spotřebitele. Komparací s výzkumem u online prodejců realizovaným napříč spotřebitelským košem bylo zjištěno, že jen prodejci se zdravotními pomůckami se specializují na tuto věkovou kategorii. Marketingový prostor pro zacílení této věkové kategorie byl zjištěn u položek bytového vybavení, zařízení domácností a dopravních služeb. Význam rozvoje digitálních technologií a online nakupování u cílové spotřebitelské kategorie osob ve věku 65 let a více se také opírá o provedenou sekundární analýzu agregovaných statistik.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of the Internet and digital technologies on the consumer behavior of seniors over the age of 65. The main goal of this work is to evaluate how people aged 65 and over use digital technologies and how they are affected by the digitization process. Primary consumer research reveals which groups of consumer basket products are purchased online by seniors over the age of 65. The analysis of the data of the questionnaire survey of persons aged 65 and over revealed other partial aspects of the marketing and economic conception of consumer behavior. By comparing it with research at online sellers carried out across a consumer basket, it was found that only sellers with medical devices specialize in this age group. Marketing space for targeting this age category was found for items of home furnishings, household equipment and transport services. The importance of the development of digital technologies and online shopping for the target consumer category of people over the age 65 is also based on a secondary analysis of aggregated statistics.
