Abstract:

Muslimové byli přítomni ve Španělsku téměř osm století, od roku 711 do roku 1492. Jejich vstup na poloostrov znamenal významnou změnu, která ovlivnila celou zem. I přes nevelký počet vojenských oddílů dokázali záhy obsadit celý Pyrenejský poloostrov a podmanit si obyvatelstvo. Jejich cesta k moci nebyla z počátku jednoduchá, museli se vyrovnat se vzpourami, nájezdům nepřátel a s náboženskými rozdíly. Vzhledem k jejich působení a kulturním zásahům zanechali v zemi nesmazatelné stopy. Al-Andalus se díky tomu stal nejzápadnější výspou islámského světa.

Abstract:

Muslims were present in Spain for almost eight centuries, from 711 to 1492. Their entry to the peninsula meant a significant change that affected the whole country. Despite their small number of troops, they soon managed to occupy the entire Iberian Peninsula and subdue its population. Their path to power was not easy from the beginning; they had to deal with riots, raids of enemies and religious differences. Al-Andalus became the westernmost outpost of the Islamic world. It was a mature polity whose cultural and educational level exceeded most contemporary European states.
