The expansion of the czarist Russia to the Central Asia and its peak in second half of the 19th century

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce popisuje a objasňuje vývoj rusko-středoasijských vztahů se zaměřením na druhou polovinu 19. století, ve které vrcholila ruská expanze ve Střední Asii. Práce je zaměřena především na vojensko-diplomatické aspekty ruského postupu vůči středoasijským státním útvarům (kazašským hordám, emirátu Buchara a chanátům Kokand a Chiva). Práce rovněž reflektuje skutečnost, že ruská expanze do středoasijských oblastí byla ovlivněna rusko-britskými vztahy a zároveň tyto vztahy ovlivňovala.

Abstract:

Master thesis describes and explains the development of Russian-Central Asian relations with focus on the second half of the 19th century, in which Russian expansion in the Central Asia reached peak. The thesis is focused particularly on the military-diplomatic aspects of the Russian advance towards Central Asian state departments (Kazakh hordes, emirate of Bukhara and khanates of Khokand and Khiva). The thesis also reflects the fact that the Russian expansion into Central Asian areas have been influenced by Russian-British relations and simultaneously these relations influenced.
