Logical Analysis in the SYNT System

Abstract:

Práce vychází z faktu, že pro přirozený jazyk stale nebyly vyvinuty prostředky, které by dostatečně umožnily jeho strojovou reprezentaci. Hlavním účelem práce bylo vytvoření a zprovoznění sady logických pravidel pro systém Synt zpracovávající věty přirozeného jazyka do formy gramatických a logických stromů. Pro logickou analýzu jazyka byla v Syntu vybrána Transparentní intenzionální logika, jejíž aparát je dostatečně jemný, aby umožnil zachytit většinu mluvnických jevů v jejich logické podobě. Logická pravidla byla vytvářena na základě gramatických pravidel české gramatiky, jak byla vytvořena v Syntu. Některá byla přidána či byl podán návrh na případné rozšíření. Samotný text práce se snaží podávat diskusi a vysvětlení pro řešení, která autor zvolil. Postupuje od podání určitých úvodních informací a přehledu aktuální situace v oboru, přes analýzu problému, vyhrazení orientace skrze určité koncepty a vlastní diskuzi všech řešení, až k zhodnocení celkového pokrytí mimo jiné i testovacím vzorkem. Na závěr je jako příloha přidána i dosud chybějící dokumentace systému Synt, zde omezená na části relevantní předmětu této práce.

Abstract:

The master thesis is based on the fact that means for the natural language still weren't created to safeguard its machine representation. The main purpose of this work was to create and to get started a set of logical rules for Synt system which transforms natural language sentences into the form of grammatical and logical trees. The Transparent Intensional Logic was chosen for the logical analysis, whose apparatus is fine enough to catch most of the grammatical phenomena in its logical level. Logical rules were created on the basis of Czech grammar rules as they were created on the basis in Synt. Some of them were added or the suggestion was made for a potential expansion. The very text of the work tries to conduct a discussion and to explain the solutions chosen by the author. It proceeds from stating particular initial information and a survey of an actual situation in the field,through the analysis of problem, the reservation of some used concepts and the very discussion of all problems, to the assessment of coverage, a test sample included. In the end the missing documentation of the Synt system is added as an addendum, here restricted for the subject of this work.
