Comparison of 19th and 20th century folk weddings with 21st century weddings in the Brno and Vyškov regions

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se snaží co nejpřesněji zachytit průběh historických svateb 19. a 20. století, ke kterým se pojí množství lidových tradic, a následně tyto svatby porovnat se současnými svatbami 21. století. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaké jsou mezi těmito svatbami rozdíly a které tradice a zvyklosti se dochovaly do současnosti. Pro větší přesnost se práce snažila vymezit na určité oblasti jižní Moravy, konkrétně Vyškovska a Brněnska, kterým věnovala pozornost především v praktické části. Z těchto oblastí autorka práce vybrala respondenty, kteří měli běžné svatby a lidové svatby, a vystihla tak mezi nimi hlavní rozdíly. Současně také porovnala, jestli jsou lidové svatby v současné době skutečně konané dle svateb historických a zda dodržují jejich pravidla. Součástí práce bylo také dotazníkové šetření, které se naopak zaměřilo na oblíbenost lidových svateb a jejich prvků po celé jižní Moravě v současném období.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis tries to capture as accurately as possible the course of historical weddings of the 19th and 20th centuries, to which many folk traditions are associated, and then compares these weddings with contemporary weddings of the 21st century. The main aim of the work is to find out what the differences are between these weddings and which traditions and customs have survived to the present day. For greater precision, the thesis has tried to limit itself to certain areas of South Moravia, namely the Vyškov and Brno regions, to which it has paid particular attention in the practical part. From these areas the author of the thesis selected respondents who had ordinary weddings and folk weddings and thus captured the main differences between them. At the same time, she also compared whether folk weddings are actually held according to historical weddings and whether they follow their rules. The thesis also included a questionnaire survey, which in turn focused on the popularity of folk weddings and their elements throughout South Moravia in the contemporary period.
