Developing computational thinking in pre-primary education

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá rozvojem informatického myšlení v preprimárním vzdělávání. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, v teoretické části jsou podrobně popsány základní pojmy vztahující se k tématu, v praktické části je obsažen průzkum vybavenosti mateřských škol a postoj učitelů k digitálním technologiím, návrh aktivit pro rozvoj informatického myšlení nejvíce zastoupených digitálních technologií. První kapitola se nazývá preprimární vzdělávání a je v ní objasněna definice, oblasti, model a cíl předškolního vzdělávání. Následuje kapitola s tématem předškolního dítěte, ve kterém je dítě popsáno z biologického i psychologického hlediska. Třetí kapitola vysvětluje informatické myšlení, definici pojmu, proč je důležité pro učitele a děti, spojitost s algoritmizací. V poslední teoretické kapitole jsou rozebrány digitální technologie, které jsou rozděleny na digitální nástroje, robotické hračky a software aplikace. V praktické části byl vypracován dotazník, který se zaměřoval na vybavenost mateřských škol digitálními nástroji a robotickými hračkami, jejich frekvence použití a přístup učitelů mateřských škol k těmto digitálním technologiím. Z výsledků lze usoudit, že mladší generace učitelek mateřských škol je spíše pozitivně nakloněna používání DT i v přímé vzdělávací nabídce s dětmi, a že vybavení mateřských škol těmito technologiemi, především digitálními nástroji, je na dobré úrovni. Na základě výsledků výzkumu byly zpracovány 3 aktivity zaměřené na rozvoj informatického myšlení. Aktivity využívají digitální technologie jako nástroj nebo jsou zaměřené na seznámení s danou technologií. Výsledky z výzkumu můžou sloužit ostatním školám, jejím ředitelům a zřizovatelům jako podklad pro využití digitálních technologií a jejich provázanost se vzděláváním. Také jsou v práci obsaženy metodické listy zaměřující se na rozvoj informatického myšlení s využitím nejvíce zastoupených digitálních nástrojů a hraček.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of informational thinking in pre-primary education. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part describes in detail the basic concepts related to the topic, practical part contains a survey of the equipment of kindergartens and the attitude of teachers towards digital technologies, a proposal of activities for the development of informational thinking of the most represented digital technologies. The first chapter is called pre-primary education and it explains the definition, areas, model and goal of pre-school education. This is followed by a chapter on the topic of the preschool child, in which the child is described from a biological and psychological point of view. The third chapter explains informative thinking, its definition, how it is important for teachers and children and the connection with algorithmization. In the last theoretical chapter, digital technologies are discussed, divided into digital tools, robotic toys and software applications. In the practical part, a questionnaire was developed, which focused on the equipment of kindergartens containing digital tools and robotic toys, their frequency of use and the approach of kindergarten teachers to these digital technologies. From the results, it can be concluded that the younger generation of pre-primary teachers is rather positively inclined to use DT even in educational activities including children, and that the equipment of kindergarden with these technologies, especially digital tools, is at a good level. Based on the research results, 3 activities focused on the development of informational thinking were prepared. The activities use digital technologies as a tool or are aimed at getting familiar with the given technology. The results of the survey can serve other schools, their directors and founders as a basis for the further progress of DT and its connection with education. Also included in the work are methodological sheets focusing on the development of informational thinking with the use of the most represented digital tools and toys.
