Economic diplomacy in the context of the EU-Mexico agreement

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat jaké změny přinesla modernizace obchodní dohody EU-Mexika v oblasti potravinářského sektoru. Zaměření na potravinářský sektor bylo zvoleno kvůli tomu, že se modernizace dohody týkala právě tohoto odvětví. Dalším přínosem práce je získat ucelený přehled o tom, jak obchodní dohoda ovlivnila export a import v oblasti potravinářského sektoru mezi Evropskou Unií a Mexikem. První kapitola bude věnována teoretické části o významu ekonomické diplomacie v obchodních vztazích. Následně se práce bude zaměřovat na obchodní dohodu, její význam, perspektivu smluvních partnerů a její modernizaci. Praktická část bude zaměřena na analýzu exportu a importu vybraných potravin před a po modernizací dohody. Poslední část práce se bude zabývat komparací dané analýzy a následnými závěry.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze the changes brought with the modernization of the EU-Mexico trade agreement in the area of food sector. The focus on the food sector was chosen due to the fact that the modernization of the agreement concerned this sector. Another benefit of the work is to get a comprehensive overview of how the trade agreement affected exports and imports in the food sector between the European Union and Mexico. The first chapter is devoted to the theoretical part about the importance of economic diplomacy in business relations. Subsequently, the work focuses on the trade agreement, its meaning, a perspective of the contractual partners and its modernization. The practical part focuses on the analysis of export and import of selected foods before and after the modernization of the agreement. The last part of the work is based on the comparison of the given analysis and subsequent conclusions.
