Brexit and customs procedures

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vystoupením Velké Británie z Evropské unie, jinak řečeno Brexitem, a celními procesy. Cílem je definovat pomocí analýzy budoucí dopady Brexitu v praxi, a to konkrétně na společnost Siemens, s.r.o., a navrhnout odpovídající přípravné kroky týkající se s tím spojené celní problematiky. Teoretická část je zaměřena na samotný Brexit, tedy co mu předcházelo, jak k němu došlo, jaký je nynější stav a předpokládaný vývoj událostí po uplynutí přechodného období. Dále je specifikováno samotné celní řízení a jeho správný průběh. Praktická část se skládá z představení společnosti Siemens, s.r.o. a interních procesů clení jejích jednotlivých jednotek. Poté je již analyzován obchodní vztah společnosti s Velkou Británií za rok 2019 a na základě veškerých transakcí vyčíslen možný dopad při stejném obchodním chování po uplynutí přechodného období na clo a celní procesy. Na základě těchto skutečností je navržen i přípravný postup.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the withdrawal of Great Britain from the European Union, in other words Brexit, and customs procedures. The main objective is to define the future impacts of Brexit in practice through an analysis, specifically on company Siemens, s.r.o. and to propose appropriate preparatory steps related to the corresponding customs matters. The theoretical part is focused on Brexit itself – what preceded it, how it happened, what the current status is and the expected development of events after the transition period. Furthermore, the customs procedure itself and its correct course are specified. The practical part consists of an introduction of Siemens, s.r.o. and internal customs processes of its individual units. Then follows the analysis of company´s business relationship with Great Britain in 2019 and the possible impact on customs processes if the company persisted the exact same business behavior after the transition period is over. Based on these facts, a preparatory procedure is also proposed.
