Psychosocial needs of cancer patients in palliative care

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jak reflektují onkologicky nemocní pacienti v paliativní péči své psychosociální potřeby a jak tyto potřeby naplnit. Diplomová práce je dále zaměřena na vedlejší faktory jako je podpora v době nemoci onkologických pacientů v paliativní péči od blízkých, vnímání současné situace z pohledu pacienta a v neposlední řadě vliv zdravotnického personálu. V teoretické části se zaměřuji na teoretická východiska paliativní péče, na její vymezení a také na její definice. Dále popisuji formy paliativní péče. Následně se věnuji potřebám onkologických pacientů v paliativní péči, popisuji druhy potřeb onkologických pacientů v paliativní péči a zároveň popisuji problematiku uspokojování potřeb pacientů v paliativní péči. Součástí teoretické části jsou psychosociální aspekty paliativní péče, kde se věnuji psychologickým a sociálním faktorům. Celou teoretickou část uzavírá kapitola Sociální práce s onkologicky nemocným pacientem v paliativní péči, na kterou se váže podkapitola o sociální práci s rodinou onkologicky nemocného pacienta v paliativní péči. V empirické části zkoumám pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu reflexi psychosociálních potřeb onkologických pacientů v paliativní péči v nemocničním zařízení. Cílem je zjistit jak naplnit psychosociální potřeby těchto pacientů. Dále zjišťuji, jak pacienti v paliativní péči vnímají svou současnou situaci, jak reflektují důležitost rodiny a blízkých jako jejich oporu a v neposlední řadě, jakou roli hraje v pacientově situaci zdravotnický personál.

Abstract:

The purpose of the thesis is to find out how they perceive cancer sick patients in palliative care reflect their psychosocial needs and how to full fill these needs. The thesis is also focusing on secondary factors, such as support in time sof illness of cancer patients in palliative care from close people, the perception of the current situation from the perspective of the patient and ultimately influence of the medical staff. In thetheoretical part I´m focusing on the theoretical basis of palliative care, its demarcation and also definition. I also describe forms of palliative care. Subsequently devoted to the needs of cancer patients in palliative care, I describe the kinds of needs of cancer patients in palliative care and also describe the problems of meeting the needs of patients in palliative care. The theoretical part of the psychosocial aspects of palliative care, which is devoted to the psychological and social factors. The whole theoretical part concludes with a charter Social work with cancer patient sreceiving palliative care, which binds to subchapter about social work with the family of cancer patients in palliative care. In the empirical part I examine by using qualitative research the reflection of psychosocial needs of cancer patients in palliative care in a hospital. The purposeis to determine how to full fill psychosocial needs of these patients. Further more, I realize how palliative care patients perceive the ircurrent situation and how they reflect the importace of family and close people as their support and last but not least, the role of the patient's medical staff situation.
