CLIL – Method in the education of professional German

Abstract:

This thesis „CLIL in DaF Tuition“ discusses the CLIL „Content and Language Integrated Learning“ tuition method, meaning the integrated tuition of a foreign language and subjects, a method which is nowadays strongly supported by the EU for the integration into school tuition systems. This innovative method is a discussion topic and the reason for tutor meetings not only in other European countries but also in the Czech Republic, where its advantages are mainly discussed (such as gaining foreign language communication skills in various situations, which is an advantage in future life at work). The thesis also introduces the main principles of methodical-didactic process of integrated tuition and strategy. These are key for the design of CLIL tuition materials. The practical part shows the CLIL-Module as one of possible options for tuition using CLIL method, which is here used by third grade students of a Tourism school in German language and Tourism subjects. Consequently, the feasibility of this module is tested with the concerned students using a mini survey. The results of the didactic tests are compared, where students demonstrate the level of their knowledge of the subject which they gained during the module, in addition they evaluate the CLIL method itself in the survey and also comment on the link between their future life at work and their private life during an interview. The conclusion presents the results of this mini survey.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „CLIL im DaF Unterricht“ pojednává o výukové metodě CLIL „Content and Language Integrated Learning“, tzn. integrovaném vyučování cizího jazyka a předmětu, který je dnes v rámci EU velmi podporován a jsou vyvíjeny podmínky pro zavedení této metody do školských systémů. Nejen v ostatních evropských zemích ale i v Čechách se tato inovativní metoda stává předmětem diskusí a setkání učitelů, kde jsou vyzdvihovány její přednosti (jako např. získávání komunikativních dovedností v cizím jazyce v různých situacích, což je výhodou pro budoucí povolání).V práci jsou představeny hlavní principy metodicko-didaktického procesu integrovaného vyučování a strategie, které jsou nutné k vytváření vyučovacích materiálů pro vyučování CLIL. V praktické části je vytvořen CLIL-Modul jako jedna z možných variant vyučování metodou CLIL, který je praktikován se žáky třetího ročníku hotelové školy v rámci předmětů německý jazyk a cestovní ruch. Následně je proveditelnost tohoto modulu ověřena s týmiž žáky malým průzkumem. Jsou zde porovnány výsledky didaktického testu, kde žáci prokáží úroveň vědomostí vyučovacího předmětu získaných během vyučovacího modulu, zhodnotí v dotazníku samotnou metodu CLIL a při rozhovoru se vyjádří k tomu, zda vidí souvislost vyučovací metody CLIL s jejich budoucím profesním i neprofesním životem. V závěru jsou uvedené výsledky zjištěné tímto malým průzkumem.
