"The Red Book" of Holešov from years 1484 - 1700

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá nejstarší dochovanou městskou knihou města Holešova, takzvanou Červenou knihou. Tento pramen obsahuje řadu jmen měšťanů zmíněných v soudních procesech týkajících se sporů, dědického vypořádání, zranění, vražd, obvinění mezi obyvateli a jiných. Tento pramen také obsahuje právní procesní řády, jenž přináší náhled na funkci městského práva a jednotlivé zápisy následně podávají informace týkající se městské správy. Mimo jiné, tato Červená kniha přináší náhled na Holešovské panství od konce 15. století až do počátku 18. století a informace o tom, jak tehdejší měšťané žili, jaké měli mezi sebou problémy a jak je následně skrze městskou radu řešili.

Abstract:

This work deals with the oldest preserved town book of the town of Holesov, the so-called Red Book. This source contains a number of names of townspeople mentioned in litigations regarding feuds, inheritance matters, injuries, murders, accusations between townspeople and others. This source also contains legal proceedings, which bring a look at the function of the town law and the individual records present new information about the town administration. Among other things, this Red Book brings a view on the Holesov countship from the end of the 15th century to the beginning of the 18th century and information about how our ancestors lived, what their problems were and how these problems were solved with the help of the town council.
