How is life of children with very low birth weight after two years of life

Abstract:

Cíl: Díky nepřetržitému rozvoji medicíny, pokroku v oblasti umělého oplodnění, vzrůstajícímu počtu těhotných žen ve vyšším věku a díky současnému hektickému životnímu stylu celosvětově roste počet dětí narozených předčasně. To představuje velmi rozsáhlou, celospolečenskou a finanční problematiku. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak se vyvíjejí děti s velmi nízkou porodní hmotností po dvou letech života a jak rodiče hodnotí jejich vývoj a chod celé rodiny po předčasném porodu. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo šest rodičů dětí narozených předčasně s velmi nízkou porodní hmotností, které dosáhly korigovaného věku dvou let, s nimiž byly vedeny polostandardizované rozhovory, které byly zaznamenány na diktafon. Ke zpracování a vyhodnocení získaných informací byla použita metoda doslovné transkripce a rámcové analýzy. Výsledky: Výzkumem bylo zjištěno, že jaký bude život předčasně narozeného dítěte nezáleží na jeho porodní hmotnosti a gestačním stáří, nýbrž na průběhu perinatálního období. Vývoj dětí participantů je poznamenán formou mírného postižení i těžkým handicapem, ale některé děti jsou zcela bez následků souvisejících s nedonošeností. Rodičům, kteří měli předčasně narozené dítě jako své první dítě, se život obrátil naruby. I přes prvotní pocit selhání, nejistoty a úzkosti ostatní rodiče změnu v rodině nepociťují. Závěr: Nedonošené dítě je pro své rodiče méně srozumitelné a předvídatelné. Nastávající rodiče by měli být informováni o rizicích spojených s předčasným porodem, aby jim mohli předcházet. Je potřeba se zaměřit na rodinu jako celek a navrátit domácí prostředí do stavu, ve kterém bude vyhovovat potřebám každého jednotlivého dítěte a bude přispívat k jeho optimálnímu vývoji. Výsledky výzkumu mohou také sloužit jako zpětná vazba pro zdravotnický personál.

Abstract:

Aim: Due to the continuous development of medicine, progress in the field of artificial insemination, the growing number of pregnant women in the older age, and due to the hectic lifestyle, number of children born prematurely is growing worldwide. This is a very comprehensive, community-wide, and financial issues. The aim of this work was to determine how children with very low birth do weight grow after two years of life and how do parents evaluate their evolution and running the family after premature birth. Methods: The research sample consisted of six parents of children born preterm with very low birth weight, which reached the corrected age of two years, these parents were asked and interviews were recorded on a Dictaphone. The transcription method and framework analysis was used to process and analyze the information obtained. Results: The research found, what kind of the life will have the preterm child it doesn?t depend on the birth weight and the gestational age, but it depends on the perinatal period. Development of children of participants was marked by the mild form of disability or the real handicap, but some children were completely without consequences associated with the prematurity. Parents who have the premature child as their first child, the life is turned upside down. Despite the initial sense of a failure, an uncertainty and an anxiety other parents do not feel the change in the family. Conclusion: The premature child is less understandable and predictable for its parents. Expectant parents should be informed about risks associated with the premature birth, so they might be prevented. It is necessary to focus on the family as the whole and return home environment to the condition it will suit the needs of each individual child and it will contribute to its optimum development. The research results can also serve as the feedback to the medical staff.
