Tématem diplomové práce je současný chov islandských koní a jejich využití v České republice. Popsána je historie plemene, vzhled, charakteristika, šlechtitelský cíl i využití. Část práce se věnuje i popisu chodů islandských koní, mezi které mimo jiné patří i tölt a skeid. Práce je zaměřena na současný stav tohoto plemene v České republice. The subject of this thesis is breeding of Icelandic horses and their use in Czech Republic. It describes the history of the breed, its appearance and distinguishing features, as well as its breeding purpose and use.
