Death Penalty in the Czech Republik and the Attitudes to the Death Penalty and Serious Criminal Offences

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou postoje občanů ČR k trestu smrti a k závažným trestným činům. Teoretická část obsahuje popis základních pojmů týkajících se trestu a trestu smrti. Dále se zde zabýváme popisem funkcí, účelem trestu smrti a uvedením argumentů pro a proti tomuto trestu smrti. Jsou zde uvedeny druhy trestů od počátků po současnost a popis jednotlivých exekucí. Následují příklady trestů z historie přes období před první světovou válkou, za protektorátu, v období po druhé světové válce. Jsou zde uvedeni i poslední popravení v Československu. V poslední části jsme zmínili, jaký postoj k trestu smrti je v současné době jak v České republice, tak v celosvětovém měřítku. V praktické části, která navazuje na část teoretickou, byl proveden průzkum mezi občany- specialisty, zaměstnanci Okresního soudu v Kutné Hoře, příslušníky kriminální služby Kutná Hora a příslušníky VS Světlá nad Sázavou a Praha Ruzyně. Uvedeny byly tři předpoklady, které měly být potvrzeny nebo vyvráceny. Odpovědi respondentů byly zpracovány do tabulek a grafů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the attitudes of Czech citizens to death a serious crime. The theoretical part describes basic concepts relating to the punishment and the death penalty. Furthermore, we are concerned with what function to the death penalty and putting the arguments for and against the death penalty. There are the types of records from the beginnings to present a description of the execution. The following are examples of sentences of history through the period before the First World War, the Protectorate, in the period after the Second World War. There are also lists the latest executed in Czechoslovakia. In the last section we mentioned, the attitude to the death penalty is Currently both the Czech Republic and worldwide. In the practical part, which builds on the theoretical, a survey was conducted among citizens, specialists, employees of the District Court in Kutná Hora, the services of a criminal Kutna Hora and members VS Světlá and Prague Ruzyně. Were given three assumptions that should be confirmed or refuted. Responses have been processed into tables and graphs.
