Effect of distribution of energy during the day on human anthropometric parameters

Abstract:

Diplomová práce byla zaměřena na hodnocení vztahu mezi rozložením příjmu energie během dne a antropometrickými parametry člověka (především procenta tělesného tuku, hodnota BMI a poměr pas/boky) v populaci dospělých osob. Sledovaný soubor obsahoval 87 jedinců (BMI 25-58,1), z toho 44 mužů a 43 žen, ve věku 23-72 let. Základní metody použité v rámci této práce byly: antropometrické měření s použitím metody bioelektrické impedance (INBODY 230) a sedmidenní záznamová metoda stanovující velikost porce pomocí vážení. Pro testování statistických hypotéz byl použit program MedCalc. Výsledky této práce ukazují, že rozložení příjmu energie během dne neovlivňuje procento tuku v těle (p= 0,6081), hodnotu BMI (p= 0,6354) a hodnotu poměru pas/boky (p= 0,3320). Průměrný denní energetický příjem byl u všech jedinců statisticky významně vyšší v odpoledních a večerních hodinách, oproti dopoledním (p <0,0001). Pro lepší výsledky by bylo potřeba použití většího počtu osob s normálními hodnotami BMI, WHR a procenta tuku.

Abstract:

The thesis was focused on the evaluation of the relationship between the distribution of energy intake during a day and human anthropometric parameters (primarily the percentage of body fat, BMI and waist/ hip ratio) in the adult population. Where 87 individuals (BMI 25-58,1), of which 44 men and 43 women, aged 23-72 years, were incorporated in the monitored set. The basic methods used in this thesis were: the anthropometric measurement using the bioelectric impedance method (INBODY 230) and the seven-day recording method determining the portion size by weighing. For testing the statistical hypotheses was used program MedCalc. The results of this thesis show that the distribution of energy during a day does not affect the percentage of body fat (p = 0.6081), BMI (p = 0.6354) and the waist/ hip ratio (p = 0.3320). The average daily energy intake was significantly higher in the afternoon and evening compared to morning for all subject (p <0,0001). For better results, more people with normal values BMI, WHR, and fat percentages would be required.
