Transhumanism and posthumanism in selected works of dystopian literature.

Abstract:

Má magisterská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na myšlenkové směry transhumanismus a posthumanismus ve vybraných dílech dystopické literatury. Práce byla rozdělena na teoretickou, praktickou a didaktickou část. V teoretické části jsem se zaměřila na transhumanismus a posthumanismus, vývoj těchto směrů a nástroje, jež využívají. V praktické části se soustředím již na konkrétní díla dystopické literatury, u nichž popisuji koncept smrtelnosti a nesmrtelnosti hlavních postav a na základě nalezení transhumanistických a posthumanistických znaků a nástrojů v daném románu určím, kterému myšlenkovému hnutí se blíží více. V didaktické části jsem využila nabytých znalostí a sestavila návrh vlastní projektové výuky, jenž může posloužit jako inspirace nejen pro vyučující literatury na středních školách nebo gymnáziích.

Abstract:

My diploma thesis deals with transhumanistic and posthumanistic schools of thoughts in selected works of dystopian literature. The thesis is divided into theoretical, practical and didactical parts. In the theoretical part, I focused on transhumanism and posthumanism, the development of these trends and the tools they use. In the practical part, I analyze specific works of dystopian literature and the concept of mortality and immortality of the main characters. Based on finding transhumanist and posthumanist signs and tools in the given novel, I then determine which of the two schools of thoughts is the novel most relevant to. In the didactic part, I used the acquired knowledge and put together a proposal for my own project teaching, which can serve as an inspiration not only for teachers of literature in secondary vocational schools or grammar schools.
