The impact of company culture on the strategy and performance of small and medium-sized businesses

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku malých a středních podniků, jejich kulturu a strategii. Jedním z jejích cílů je ukázat důležitost manažerské kultura a její provázanost se strategií a výkonností podniků. Popisuje jednotlivé druhy a úrovně kultury. Definuje její význam, prvky a obsah. Definuje její sílu a vzájemné vztahy manažerské kultura a strategie, které mají vliv na výkonnost podniku. Zařazuje firmu dle typologie firemní kultury. Další část práce představuje manažerskou kulturu v praktickém prostředí malé firmy “ XY s. r. o.“, její funkci, prvky a sílu. Analyzuje současnou úroveň dané firmy, její přednosti a nedostatky, strategii a vzájemnou provázanost. Postoj zaměstnanců k pojmu „Manažerská kultura“ a rozbory pomocí Porterovy analýzy pěti sil a dotazníku. Závěr shrnuje zjištěné poznatky o firemní kultuře firmy a navrhuje určitá řešení k jejímu zlepšení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the issues of small and medium-sized enterprises, their culture and strategy. One of its objectives is to show the importance of managerial culture and its interaction with the strategies and performance of enterprises. It describes the different types and levels of culture. Defines its meaning, elements and contents. Defines her strength and mutual relationships of management culture and strategies that have an impact on the performance of the company. Classifies the firm according to the typology of corporate culture.Another part of the work presents the managerial culture in the practical environment of a small company “XY i.n.c.“, its function, features and power. Analyzes the current level of the firm, its strengths and weaknesses, strategy and interdependence. The attitude of the staff to the concept of "Managerial culture" and the analysis using the Porter's analysis five forces, and questionnaire. The conclusion summarizes the findings about the corporate culture of the firm and proposes some solutions to improve it.
