Procedural terrain generation with the possibility of path searching

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje vývoji desktopové aplikace určené pro generování terénu a hledání cesty v mapě. Vybrané implementované algoritmy umožňují ve třech různých provedeních generovat terén s možnostmi úprav jednotlivých parametrů a také ve třech implementovaných variantách umožňují hledat cestu v mapě. Aplikace rovněž umožňuje pohyb kamery okolo terénu a grafické zobrazení ohodnocení jednotlivých hran pro hledání cesty. Cíle práce: vytvoření přehledu algoritmů pro generování terénu a hledání cest, implementace vybraných algoritmů, zhodnocení a závěry.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is devoted to development of desktop application for terrain generation and pathfinding. Selected implemented algorithms enable to generate terrain with adjustable parameters in three different implementations and it also enables pathfinding in three different ways. Application enables camera movement around terrain and graphical projection of cost of edges for pathfinding. Goals: creation of overview of algorithms for terrain generation and pathfinding, implementation of chosen algorithms, evaluation and conclusions.
