Possibility of distance form of education at elementary school in exeptional situations

Abstract:

Současná situace vede mnohé vlády, včetně vlády ČR k zavádění mimořádných opatření, kterým se snaží ochránit občany své země před pandemií Covid-19. Vláda ČR proto již podruhé v letošním roce přistoupila k zavedení tzv. distanční výuky. Diplomová práce je proto tematicky orientována na hodnocení technologických možností a průběh distanční výuky. Teoretická část práce vychází z aktuálních poznatků z oblasti distanční výuky a metod vzdělávání. Pozornost je zde věnována také pandemii, Covidu-19, žákům prvního stupně, žákům ze sociálně vyloučeného prostředí a jejich rodinám a v neposlední řadě také osobnosti učitele. Neopomenula také pedagogickou komunikaci, motivaci k učení a informační technologie. Praktická a výzkumná část je věnována prezentaci kvantitativně orientovaného výzkumného šetření zacíleného na hodnocení technologických možností a průběh distanční výuky žáků, rodičů a pedagogů 1. stupně základních škol v Ústeckém kraji. Cílem práce je tak vymezení rizikových míst v distanční výuce, zhodnocení technologických potřeb žáků, rodičů a pedagogů během distanční výuky a formulace doporučení pro zefektivní možnosti distanční formy výuky a forem komunikace s rodinami při mimořádné krizové situaci prostřednictvím ICT.

Abstract:

The current situation leads many governments, including the government of the Czech Republic, to implement emergency measures, by which they try to protect their citizens against the Covid-19 pandemic. The government of the Czech Republic therefore implemented the so called distance learning for the second time this year. The topic of this diploma thesis is hence oriented in evaluation of the technological possibilities and the process of distance learning. The theoretical part of the work is based on current information from the field of distance learning and the methods of teaching. Attention is paid to the pandemic, Covid-19, elementary school pupils, pupils from socially disadvantaged areas, their families and last but not least to the teacher´s personality. Pedagogical communication, motivation to learn and information technologies are also included. The practical and empirical part both provide the presentation of quantitatively oriented research, which deals with the evaluation of the technological possibilities and the process of distance learning, how the pupils, parents and teachers experience it at elementary schools in the Ustecky region. This diploma thesis therefore aims to define the vulnerabilities in distance learning, to evaluate the technological needs of pupils, parents and teachers during distance learning and to formulate the recommendations to streamline the possibilities of the distance form of learning and forms of communication with families during the situation of public emergency by using ICT.
