Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá symbolikou ve filmové tvorbě české režisérky Věry Chytilové. Zkoumá nejčastější symboly, které autorka používá, a pokouší se o jejich výklad. První a druhá část textu vysvětluje etymologický vznik pojmu symbol, dále uvádí jeho různé definice a hovoří také o využití symbolu v uměleckých oblastech, např. ve výtvarném umění, poezii či filmu. The bachelor thesis deals with the film symbolism of the Czech director Věra Chytilová. It examines main symbols, which the author uses, and interprets their possible meanings. The first and the second section explain the etymological meaning of the term of symbol and its various definitions.
