Body and Object in Physical Theatre

Abstract:

Práce je mezioborovou studií o vztahu tělesnosti a předmětu s důrazem na propustnost hranic performativní praxe, uměleckého vzdělávání a teorie. Opírá se o postupy kvalitativní komparativně-deskriptivní evaluace a zejména Art-Based Research. Text otevírá prostor, v němž je pozorováno a zkoumáno ne to, co dělá tělo s objektem, ale především čím se tělo díky objektu stává, čili v co nebo koho se transformuje, a případně, jaký vliv může tato proměna mít na objekt a subjekt samotný. Objekt včetně masky se konceptualizoval jako hybatel lidského prožívání, myšlení i konání. Jevil se také jako impuls k herecké akci, ke scénickému chování a jednání, k fyzické partituře a choreografii. Kompilačně komparační rešeršní práce syntetizovaná v empirii z uměleckého i pedagogického terénu dala vzniknout také autorskému pojmovému aparátu.

Abstract:

The thesis is an interdisciplinary study of the relationship between physicality and the subject with an emphasis on the permeability of the boundaries of performative practice, art education and theory. It is based on the procedures of qualitative comparative-descriptive evaluation and especially on Art-Based Research. The text opens up a space in which one observes and examines not what the body does to the object, but above all what the body becomes thanks to the object, i.e. what or whom it transforms into and what possible effect this transformation could have on the object and the subject itself. The object, including the mask, was conceptualized as an engine of human experience, thinking and action. It also appeared as an impulse to acting, to stage behaviour and action, to physical score and choreography. Compilation and comparative research work has been synthesized empirically from the artistic and pedagogical terrain and also enabled the creation of author's terminological apparatus.
