Documentary payment system

Abstract:

Target of my bachelor´s thesis is clarification of the basic issues of documentary payments and mainly focus on their structuring, their description and their usage in practice. In the first chapter I will focus on the detailed description of individual forms of the documentary payment system. I will first of all put emphasis on documentary payment, documentary credit, bank guarantee and the promissory note. I will deal with each documentary payment instrument in details in the respective subheads of my work. In the second chapter I will explain the certain types, forms, requisites and main principles of documentary credit. Since the documentary credits belong to the most used tools of documentary payment instruments, I will in details characterize its participants and process of the credit operation, which I will describe together with respective graphs and charts. In the third and last chapter I will try to focus on the usage of the documentary credit in practice as one of the payment instrument of the international payment system. We classify the letter of credits among the oldest bank instruments and due to this reason their need, occurence and usage became as in the past and in presence invevitable part of the bank sphere.

Abstract:

Cieľom mojej bakalárskej práce je objasnenie základnej problematiky dokumentárnych platieb, zamerať sa hlavne na ich členenie, popis a ich využite v praxi. V prvej kapitole sa zameriam na podrobnejší popis jednotlivých foriem dokumentárneho platobného styku. Dôraz budem klásť najmä na dokumentárne inkaso, dokumentárny akreditív, bankovú záruku a platobný prísľub. S každým jedným dokumentárnym platobným nástrojom sa budem podrobnejšie zaoberať v príslušných podkapitolách mojej práce. V druhej kapitole vysvetlím jednotlivé druhy, formy, náležitosti a hlavné princípy dokumentárneho akreditívu. Keďže akreditívy patria medzi najpoužívanejšie nástroje dokumentárneho platobného styku, podrobnejšie charakterizujem jej účastníkov a priebeh akreditívnej operácie, ktorú súčastne aj popíšem príslušnými grafmi. V poslednej tretej a zároveň aj záverečnej kapitole sa pokúsim zamerať na využitie dokumentárneho akreditívu v praxi ako jedného z nástrojov zahraničného platobného styku. Akreditívy zaraďujeme medzi najstaršie bankové inštrumenty, z tohto dôvodu sa ich potreba, výskyt a využitie stali tak ako v minulosti, tak aj v súčasnosti neodmysliteľnou súčasťou bankového sektora.
