Mitochonria - the regulation of their number and activity

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje molekulárním mechanismům a regulačním drahám, které ovlivňují počet a funkci mitochondrií. V práci je popsána regulace biogeneze mitochondrií v odpovědi na energetické potřeby buňky zaměřená především na transkripční faktory a kofaktory indukující biogenezi mitochondrií, význam a mechanismy regulující dělení a fúzi mitochondrií, regulace autofagie mitochondrií a regulace a molekulární mechanismy ovlivňující přepínání glykolytického a oxidativního metabolismu a s tím spojenou změnou aktivity a morfologie mitochondrií.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the molecular mechanisms and regulatory pathways that affect mitochondrial number and function. This thesis describes the regulation of mitochondrial biogenesis in response to the cellular energy demands aimed primarily at transcription factors and cofactors inducing mitochondrial biogenesis, significance and mechanisms that regulate mitochondrial division and fusion, regulation and control of mitochondrial autophagy and molecular mechanisms affect the switching of the glycolytic and oxidative metabolism and the related changing the mitochondrial morphology and activity.
