Kosovo after Independence - Prospects for the Integration into the EU

Abstract:

Since the fall of communism in Balkan countries and the gradually collapse of former Yugoslavia, Balkan was one of the most problematic regions in the world. Conflict in countries such as in Bosnia and in Kosovo have been for a long time main topics of international politics and Kosovo still continues to be somehow. War of 1999 opened a new page not only for the people living in Kosovo but also for EU. Mission of EU in Kosovo gradually rose and reached the top after 2008 with the establishment of the biggest EU mission in the world which is EULEX. The goal of thesis is to analyse things that have to be done by EU mission and Kosovo's government in order to bring Kosovo closer to EU.
